3.2.2.c Adapting the daily picking schedule to the vineyard's characteristics

When the harvest order has been established, and the list of plots to be harvested on a given day decided, it is possible to adapt the schedule to best suit the harvesting programme:

  • Take breaks after moving from one plot to another

  • Set breaks at regular intervals (with a number of rounds that ideally does not vary or only slightly)

  • Favour harvesting "tedious" plots (difficult access, plots with very long rows, on slopes, or in a depression, with no air flow) in the morning when possible, so as to finish the day on plots that are easier to harvest physically and in terms of morale

  • Adapt the schedule throughout the harvest period according to the teams' levels of energy/tiredness
